Dash Point History

Dash Point is the northern most point of the two points of land which extend out into the Puget Sound. This area initially was sparsely populated by a few permanent residents at first, sprinkled with a few “summer cabins” along the shore line of the area.

As the decades rolled by, there were a few prominent residents who gradually established a small community and a business or two of the “mom & pop” type, but one prominent family, the Austins, were leaders in establishing the Dash Point community.

Since much of the history of the two points have intermingled over the decades, it is difficult to separate them. Therefore, some historical information will speak of both communities and their development.
