The history of Browns Point goes back as far as the late 1700s. Over the two hundred plus years since then, it has changed dramatically and grown into a “bedroom community” with a few businesses supporting most of the residents with minimal services. This history is divided into five major eras, or periods, which demarcate the growth of this particular community and specifically the Browns Point lighthouse which played a pivotal role in its development.

It is our hope that our visitors here enjoy and learn from the information provided to better understand the rich heritage which is part of this northern most portion of Pierce County.
